Description Applicant seeks a 30−day extension, until May 15, 2011, of the authority granted in File No. SES− STA−20110308−00258, permitting higher power operations in the 12750−12752 MHz band for TT&C. As explained in more detail in that application, which is incorporated herein by reference, this frequency band is used as a back−up band for ranging and command transmissions, and higher power is necessary to ensure that the earth station can maintain the link with the satellite under degraded conditions, such as in the event of rain. On March 4, 2011, LightSquared filed a modification of license application, File No. SES−MOD−20110304−00244, seeking regular authority for the temporary authority requested in this filing. That application is pending. 5
