March 25, 2011 Federal Communications Commission Satellite Radio Communications The Portals, 445 Twelfth Street NW Washington DC 20554 Solo Satellite Communication Special Temporary Authority (STA) Request C-Band Earth Station – Miami, Florida Solo Satellite Communications hereby requests a Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow for temporary operation of a C-band earth station from Miami, Florida at Crandon Park Tennis Centre. This C-Band earth station will be utilized to broadcast tennis events from this location. Solo Satellite Communications currently owns and operates a transportable earth station licensed under Call Sign E060002 - File Number SES-LIC-20060105-00008. This transportable is licensed for a satellite arc of 58 – 143 degrees West Longitude. However, due to limited satellite transponder availability during the tennis event the only transponder available for the duration of this event is on Intelsat 11 at 43 degrees West Longitude. Intelsat 11 is on the permitted list. Solo Satellite Communications hereby requests this STA for operation for a time frame beginning on March 26, 2011 and ending on April 15, 2011.
