The STA references our current modification application file SES-AFS-20100916-01166. The modification is requesting a change in frequency from C-band to Ku-band, and as such the modification lists all of the satellites to which we now wish to communicate using Ku-band frequencies. The modification also removes all of the satellites from the existing license to which we will no longer communicate. To clarify the reason for the STA. In order to not have the antenna installation crew return at some later date following the assembly of the antenna in the new location (and therefore incur additional charges), we wanted to be permitted to at least conduct CW pattern testing of the antenna prior to the modification grant (which I believe will still be a few months away). The STA states that the satellite to be used had not yet been determined. We have now narrowed that down to Intelsat's IS-701 at 180°E. I hope this clears things up.
