                                         Description

MTN License Corp. (“MTN”), pursuant to Section 25.120(b)(3) of the
Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 25.120(b)(3), hereby requests a 60-day extension of its
existing Special Temporary Authority (“STA”) to operate remote earth stations licensed
under its C-band ESV authorization (Call Sign E050281) at a single fixed location in
Petaluma, California. See SES-STA-20091119-01480. The existing STA expires on
June 25, 2010, and MTN requests an extension through August 24, 2010.

In its request for STA, MTN explained that it had an immediate need to begin
testing of its C-band ESV remotes at its new assembly, integration and testing (“AIT”)
facility in Petaluma pending modification of its C-band ESV authorization to add
operations at the AIT facility on a permanent basis. MTN filed its modification
application in May, and that application remains pending before the Commission. See
File No. SES-MOD-20100505-00555. The need to test MTN’s C-band ESV remotes will
continue past the June 25 expiration date of the existing STA, thereby necessitating this
request to extend the STA for another 60 days pending Commission action on the
modification application.

Grant of the instant request will serve the public interest by allowing final testing
of MTN’s C-band remote units to continue at its AIT facility in Petaluma. Testing at the
new AIT facility will help ensure that the specific requirements of ESV operation
specified in Section 25.221 of the Commission’s rules will be diligently adhered to by
MTN ESVs. This promotes the efficiency of use of the shared C-band frequencies by
satellite and terrestrial systems, and will help protect C-band satellites operating from
orbital locations adjacent to those MTN uses for its ESV services.

In summary, and on the basis of the information provided above, MTN
respectfully requests, for a period of 60 days commencing on June 25, 2010, extended
special temporary authority to operate the C-band ESV remote earth stations licensed
under Call Sign E050281 at a fixed location in Petaluma.
