May 6, 2009 Federal Communications Commission Satellite Radio Communications The Portals, 445 Twelfth Street NW Washington DC 20554 Marshall Communication Corporation Special Temporary Authority (STA) Request C—Band Earth Station Marshall Communication Corporation hereby requests a Special Temporary Authority (STA) to allow for temporary operation of a C—band earth station from locations in Huntsville, AL at the Marshall Space and Flight Center and from New Orleans, LA at the Michoud Assembly Facility. This C—Band earth station will be utilized in support of system testing and personnel training for restoration of communications during hurricanes or other disasters that may affect the Huntsville and New Orleans facilities. In addition this STA will allow for operations in the event of a disaster during this 60 day time frame. ALSAT satellite are requested since satellite segments will vary during the 60 day period and acquiring satellite seqgments will be part of the training process. Marshall Communication Corporation requests operations for a 60 day period beginning on May 8, 2009. This STA is filed in conjunction with the application for a temporary fixed earth station license filed on 4/28/2009. Call Sign EO90080.
