Description Harris Corporation is requesting STA for a sixty day period to operate a 2.4 meter C—band earth station in connection with a critical project for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) . The attached letter from the FAA demonstrates that Harris is the current FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure contractor. Harris requests expedited processing of this application due to the critical flight path information that will be provided pursuant to this STA. Harris submits that a grant of this application will serve the public interest because it will assist the FAA‘s mission of ensuring flight safety. Harris has filed for a permanent license for these facilities, see Submission ID 1B2009000885.

FAA Satellite communications are essential to the air traffic control and safety of flight within the National Airspace System (NAS).
