Dortch Secretary Federal Communications Commission 445 12th Street, S.W., Room A325 Washington, DC 20554 Re: Requestfor Special Temporary Authority £080130, SES—LIC—20080529—00688 Dear Ms. Dortch: This letter requesting "grant stamp" special temporary authority ("STA") is submitted pursuant to Section 25.120 of the Commission‘s Rules on behalf of Convergent Media Systems Corporation, applicant for 3.7 meter Ku—band satellite earth station EO80130, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The underlying application was submitted May 29, 2008, with the above—referenced file number. Applicant requests an STA to test the earth station prior to grant during the time that the construction crew is available, namely starting the week of June 23, 2008. Applicant requests an STA for a period of 180 days or until the application for E080130 is granted. The proposed earth station will operate on Ku—band frequencies so frequency coordination issues are not implicated. The earth station will be 3.7 meters in diameter so no FAA notification is required. Applicant will operate the earth station in accordance with standard STA conditions‘ and acknowledges: (a) that harmful interference shall not be caused to any other lawfully operated station, and operator shall cease immediately upon notification of interference; complaints of radio interference shall be forwarded immediately to the Commission in writing; (b) that the requested authorization is subject to change in any of its terms or to cancellation in its entirety at any time upon reasonable notice, but ‘ See International Bureau Launches New Procedures, November 21, 1994.

Dortch, Secretary June 2, 2008 Page 2 without hearing, if in the opinion of the Commission, cireumstances should so warrant; (c) operation of the earth station is limited to standard Ku—band frequencies; (d) all antenna structures shall be marked and lighted in accordance with FCC and FAA requirements, if necessary; (e) the grant of temporary authorization for domestic earth stations is not to be construed in any way as approval for the regular use of those earth station facilities for domestic satellite communications; 8 should the underlying application for regular authority be dismissed or denied, this temporary authority will automatically expire.
