Alascom, Inc. Selawik, AK (E2199) Justification for Special Temporary Authority Alascom, Inc. respectfully requests Special Temporary Authority to relocate our earth station in Selawik, Alaska (E2199). The earth station is used to provide inter—exchange telephony service to this geographically isolated community. The building owner of the current station has discontinued maintenance of the DC power plant. We propose to collocate in the new LEC central office building, located approximately one—half mile from our existing location, which has reliable power for our station. It is in the public interest to provide a seamless transition to the new facilities as soon as possible to avoid service interruptions to the community. We have initiated expedited frequency coordination and once the coordination clears, Alascom will apply to modify this earth station license to allow service from this new location. The STA is requested to enable us to immediately move the earth station to its new location, upon grant, which will allow continued operation pending the grant of the license modification.
