Harris Corporation is requesting STA for a sixty day period to operate a 3.7 meter Ku−band earth station in connection with a critical project for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The attached letter from the FAA demonstrates that Harris has been authorized to replace the former vendor for the FAA and use the telecommunications 13. Description Harris Corporation is requesting STA for a sixty day period to operate a 3.7 meter Ku−band earth station in connection with a critical project for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The attached letter from the FAA demonstrates that Harris has been authorized to replace the former vendor for the FAA and use the telecommunications equipment left in place by the former vendor. Harris requests expedited processing of this application due to the critical flight path information that will be provided pursuant to this STA. Harris submits that a grant of this application will serve the public interest because it will assist the FAA’s mission of ensuring flight safety. Applicant intends to file for a permanent license for these facilities within 30 days. 5
