Conditions for Grant of Katrina—related STA request IBFS FILE NO. SES—STA—20050921—01308 Sept. 21, 2005 Stratos Offshore Services Company‘s Sept. 21, 2005 request for special temporary authority (STA) IS GRANTED. Accordingly, Stratos Offshore Services Company is authorized from Sept. 21, 2005 to Nov 19, 2005 to operate a 3.8m Conventional Ku—band hub earth station in connection with Stratos‘s VSAT authorization, call—sign E980235. This authorization will provide continuous voice and data services for the hurricane recovery efforts being undertaken by FEMA, the National Guard, and local and State recovery agencies, as well as for the restoration efforts of the oil drilling platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. All operations under this authorization are on an unprotected non— interference basis in accordance with the terms, conditions, and technical specifications set forth in the Commission‘s rules and this document. 1. Stratos Offshore Services Company shall coordinate all of its operations so that no harmful interference shall be caused to any other lawfully operating satellites or radiocommunication system. Stratos Offshore Services Company shall cease operations immediately upon notification of such interference and inform the Commission in writing immediately of such an event. 2. Stratos Offshore Services Company is required to accept interference from other lawfully operating satellites or radiocommunication systems. 3. Any action taken or expense incurred as a result of operations pursuant to this special . authority is solely at Stratos Offshore Services Company‘s own risk. 4. Stratos Offshore Services Company is limited to an input power density to the antenna flange of —14 dBW/4 kHz for any carrier. This grant is issued pursuant to Section 0.261 of the Commission‘s rules on delegated authority, 47 C.F.R. § 0.261, and is effective immediately.
