12. Description. The N.Y.P.D. requests the approval to operate ONE (1) Temporary fixed - 0.96meter antenna on its present system - License E040381. The network utilizes satellite AMC-09, in Geostationary orbit located at 83 degrees W.L. All sites are the property of the N.Y.P.D., and are located in New York City. This system is for the Command Center between Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, and the Counter Terrorism Task Force. The purpose of operation is for the protection and security of the citizens of New York City during this time of heightened security risk and the continued threat of terrorism. The N.Y.P.D. is requesting approval of a 30 day STA while the 'Affidavit Letters' from adjacent satellite users are being signed.
