| 12. Description.
An extension of special temporary authority is requested by Verestar to continue operations of its VSAT network for an additional 60 days or until the underlying application for authority is granted. See File No. SES-LIC-2003111101612, as amended by SES-AMD-20040518-00681 & SES-AMD-20040423-00581. For the same reasons described in the STA request filed on April 12, 2004 in File No. SES-STA-20040423-00582, which was granted on June 16, 2004, it is in the public interest to grant the request to extend the STA so that Verestar may continue providing service to the Department of Army using these facilities.
