Text for STA Modification(?) to Include Testing via Link to NIMIQ 2 Satellite The text below should be included in Attachment 2 under Item 11 in an electronic STA request (application). Under Item 12, can have text referring reader to Attachment 2: Boeing requests modification to previously granted special temporary authority (STA) to allow greater flexibility in SPACEWAY telemetry and command (T&C) antenna test program by including uplink to NIMIQ 2 (91° W.L.) Ka-band FSS payload in addition to currently authorized uplink to ACTS (105.3° W.L.) satellite. NIMIQ 2 was launched in December 2002 and is operated by Telesat Canada. Boeing is collaborating with Telesat Canada for compatible use of their satellite. As was previously demonstrated in Boeing's original STA requests with respect to T&C antenna testing via ACTS, Boeing will choose frequencies and schedules for transmitting from T&C earth stations located at Canoga Park, California and Littleton, Colorado to NIMIQ 2 as to avoid interference with the ACTS satellite. These parameters will be coordinated with ACTS program personnel at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, to confirm their acceptability.
