These additional Ku—band frequencies correspond to frequencies in the lower L—band (1530 — 1544/1631.5 — 1660.5 MHz). AMSC has been granted an STA to operate mobile earth terminals in the lower L—band frequencies. See Order and Authorization, File No. 681—DSE—MP/L—95, DA 95—1701 (August 1, 1995); Order on Reconsideration, File No. 681—DSE—MP/L—95, DA 95—1723 (August 4, 1995).
