                            Petition for Reinstatement
The Ku‐Band Transmit Receive earth station, E030295, licensed to Nexstar
Broadcasting, Inc. (“Nexstar”), expired on December 23, 2018. Due to an
administrative oversight, the renewal is being late‐filed with the FCC. The instant
request for reinstatement was further delayed due to the government shutdown.
Nexstar has taken additional steps to avoid future occurrences by expanding its
calendaring systems in order to create additional checks and balances. Pursuant
to 47 C.F.R. § 1.3 of the FCC’s rules, it may waive a rule if such action would not
undermine the policy objective of the rule and would be in the public interest.
See WAIT Radio v. FCC, 418 F.2d 1153, 1157 (D.C. Cir. 1969) and Northeast
Cellular Telephone Co. v. FCC, 897 F.2d 1164, 1166 (D.C. Cir. 1990). A grant of the
instant application would be in the public interest since it would allow Nexstar to
continue broadcast service, which, at times includes relevant community and/or
emergency alert information, to its respective viewer communities without
interruption. Accordingly, Nexstar respectfully requests that the FCC grant the
instant renewal application and request for reinstatement.
