Emerging Markets Communications, Inc. Renewal of E000127 June 30, 2010 Page 1 of 1 Description of Application And Request for Waiver By this Application, Emerging Markets Communications, Inc. (“EMC”) requests renewal of its earth station license with call sign E000127. This earth station is located in Kapolei, HI and its license expires on July 12, 2010. In connection with this Application, EMC requests a waiver of Section 25.121(e) of the FCC Rules. Section 25.121(e) requires that applications for renewals of earth station licenses be submitted no later than 30 days before the expiration date of the license. EMC was unable to file this renewal 30 days in advance of expiration because this license was just assigned to EMC on June 21, 2010 (see EMC consummation notice in File No. SES-ASG-20090505-00552). While the Commission granted the assignment application on June 10, 2010, EMC only became aware of the Commission’s action on June 16, 2010 upon release of the Commission’s public notice announcing the grant. See Report No. SES-01253, rel. June 16, 2010. As such, there is good cause to grant this waiver request. DC01/GRIFJ/420381.1
