Rule Section 25.121(e) Waiver Request Pursuant to the instant application, Curtis Network Group, LLC (“Applicant”), seeks the renewal of Earth Station License E5605, which is scheduled to expire on July 17, 2010. In February 2010, Applicant notified the International Bureau of the consummation of the transaction pursuant to which Applicant acquired the E5605 License. In late April or early May 2010, Applicant’s legal counsel learned that the IBFS database had not yet been updated to reflect the Applicant’s name as the current licensee. In an effort to have the IBFS database correctly reflect the name prior to attempting to submit a renewal application for the facility, Applicant, through legal counsel, contacted International Bureau Staff about the name change. The IBFS database was updated to correctly reflect Applicant’s name on June 23, 2010, and, on the same day, the Applicant is submitting the instant renewal application. As a result, this application is being filed only 24 days prior to the scheduled expiration of the E5605 License, which is less than one week outside of the filing deadline established by Section 25.121(e). Consequently, out of an abundance of caution, the Applicant respectfully requests a waiver of Section 25.121(e). Because Section 25.121(e) of the Commission’s Rules requires earth station renewal applications to be filed no later than 30 days prior to the expiration date, Applicant seeks a waiver of the 30-day prior provision for good cause shown as described above. * * *
