Exhibit A Purpose of the application ViaSat, Inc. (“ViaSat”) has been granted authority to operate a 4.1 meter, model VA-41-KA gateway-type earth station in the Ka band to communicate with the satellite ViaSat-2, expected to launch in June of 2017. The license lists the location of the gateway at 7045 Hwy 305 N, Olive Branch, MS 38654 in the county of DeSoto. Coordination of this site with incumbent operators was completed at that location. ViaSat requests this modification to make an administrative correction to the coordinates of the earth station identified on the license, which were inadvertently entered incorrectly into Form 312 Schedule B, Items E11 and E12. In attachment Exhibit A of the Earth Station Application for E160130 under file number SES-LIC- 20160713-00642, Table 3 – 4.1 m Site Locations correctly lists the coordinates for the earth station. These coordinates are consistent with the physical address of the earth station location, which was provided in Form 312 Schedule B. The prior coordination notices provided by Comsearch to terrestrial licensees identified the correct coordinates of the earth station location. Therefore, the requested correction is administrative in nature.
