Question E15
Modification Application for Earth Station License E080209

DataPath, Inc. (DataPath) is requesting a Modification of an existing Temporary-Fixed Satellite
earth station license (E080209) in order to add four .73 meter (QCT90) Temporary-Fixed Ku-
band earth stations at various locations to communicate with all Permitted Satellites to
transmit/receive in the 1400-14500 MHz (Earth-to-space) and 11700-12200 MHz (space-to-
Earth) frequency bands. The purpose of the Modification is to allow DataPath to perform
customer demonstrations using the QCT90.

DPII Holdings, LLC, applied for and was granted an STA for E080209 from May 25, 2016 –
July 25, 2016 for DataPath’s use of the QCT90s.

In that the QCT90 will not conform with the standards in Section 25.209, DataPath instead will
conform with a non-routine earth station listed on the FCC’s List of Approved Non-Routine
Earth Station Antennas (Nippon SES-LIC-20080616-00780; E080144) for the Swe-Dish XC90-
66K. Based upon the Nippon application for E080144, DataPath will use the QCT90s for similar
services under similar operating conditions, which were confirmed with International Bureau
staff prior to filing this application (Antenna gain 39.8 dBi, Total input power at antenna flange
12.6 W, Max EIRP per carrier 50.8 dBW, and Max EIRP density per carrier 13.4 dBW/4KHz).

The grant of this application will serve the public interest by allowing DataPath to demonstrate
this innovative antenna that will facilitate remote communications for aerospace, broadcast,
government, and infrastructure customers.
