DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC ("DIRECTV") requests that the DIRECTV 98 and DIRECTV 11 Ka—band satellites, currently operating at the nominal 101° W.L. and 99° W. L. orbital locations, respectively, be added as points of communication for this earth station. DIRECTV also requests that DIRECTV 12, a new Ka—band satellite to be launched later this year to the nominal 103° W.L. orbital location, be added as a point of communication as well. The application for DIRECTV 12 (IBFS File No. SAT—LOA—20090807—00086) is currently pending, and launch is expected in the fourth quarter of this year. Grant of this application will enhance DIRECTV‘s ability to communicate with its existing fleet of Ka—band spacecraft, and ensure that DIRECTV can communicate with its latest satellite as soon as it is launched.
