Nelson Chief, Satellite Division International Bureau Federal Communications Commission Washington, D.C. 20544 Re: Application of Amtech Call Sign E990316 SES —MOD—20060614—01011 Dear Mr. Nelson: This letter is in response to your request for clearance of a modification of Amtech existing authorization for 30,000 half—duplex Mobile Earth Terminals that operate with the MSV system. The request involves continuing a waiver of certain parts of the priority and preemption rules for some of the Amtech terminals. Amtech‘s application refers to efforts by Amtech to continue to reduce the maximum preemption time for the half—duplex terminals. in light of these continuing efforts, NTHA can concur with the grant of the application to extend the authorization until July 2010 but not beyond the MSV—1 satellite end—of—life if it occurs before July 2010. We concur in granting Aimtech‘s STA request as necessary to continue its operations.
