Nextel Communications of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc. has licensed a domestic VSAT network consisting of a fixed hub and five transportable remote earth stations, which will be deployed to operate on a short-term basis in remote areas where disasters have destroyed or impared traditional form of wireless telecomunications, at major events/attractions, and at special events requiring enhanced security. Nextel now seeks to add two addtional hub antennas to their VSAT network. The new hub antennas will also provide digital operations with the network. |
