Nextel Communications of the Mid−Atlantic, Inc. has licensed a domestic VSAT network consisting of a fixed hub site and five transportable remote earth stations, which will be deployed to operate on a short−term basis in remote areas where disasters have destroyed or impared traditional forms of wireless telecommunications at major events/attractions, and at special events requiring enhanced security. In addition to operating their transportable remote earth stations throughout the continental United States, Nextel Communications of the Mid−Atlantic seeks to also add Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the American Virgin Islands as operating points on their license. 22
