FCC Form 312 Exhibit 1 REGARDING TWO DEGREE SPACING COMPLIANCE Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, Inc. (“TBS”) is seeking herein to add a new antenna type – the CCT90 Suitcase, manufactured by Rockwell Collins – to its current temporary-fixed earth station authorization. 1 In connection with the instant application, TBS is supplying antenna patterns relating to the operational characteristics of the antenna. In addition, TBS has procured written documentation from Sky Perfect JSAT Corporation, over whose satellites TBS’ signals will be communicated, acknowledging the use of the antennas and certifying to their compliance with two-degree spacing regulations. In addition to the documentation associated herewith, TBS makes the following commitments: • The antenna patterns associated with the application exceed the sidelobe specification established in Section 25.209. • TBS certifies that it will limit its pointing error to 0.5°. • TBS acknowledges that its proposed antenna will be protected from radio interference caused by other space stations only to the degree to which harmful interference would not be expected to be caused to an earth station employing an antenna conforming to the referenced patterns defined in Section 25.209. For the foregoing reasons, TBS respectfully requests that the application for new authority will be granted. 1TBS notes that the antenna type that is the subject of the instant application has already been authorized for similar use by the Commission under Call Sign E030197 (File No. SES-MOD-20080603-00698), to SWE- DISH Satellite Systems, Inc (now Rockwell Collins Satellite Communications Systems, Inc.).
