FAA INFORMATION Form 312, Schedule B, Question E20 The proposed 2.4 meter Ku band antenna, which is the subject of this application, will be mounted on a building’s (Lanigan Hall) penthouse located on the campus of the State University of New York at Oswego. The top of the antenna, including its mount, will extend approximately 2.8 meters above the existing surface. 47 CFR Part 17.14 of the Commission’s rules states, in part that, “A notification to the Federal Aviation Administration is not required for any of the following construction or alteration: (a) Any object that would be shielded by existing structures of a permanent and substantial character or by natural terrain or topographic features of equal or greater height, and would be located in the congested area of a city, town, or settlement where it is evident beyond all reasonable doubt that the structure so shielded will not adversely affect safety in air navigation. Applicant claiming such exemption under § 17.14(a) shall submit a statement with their application to the FCC explaining basis in detail for their finding. (b) Any antenna structure of 6.10 meters (20 feet) or less in height except one that would increase the height of another antenna structure.” Nearby buildings are equal to or taller than the antenna and the building it is mounted to. Also the top of this antenna will be about 2.8 meters above the existing roof surface and therefore does not extend more than 6.10 meters above the existing structure. Hence notice to the FAA is not required pursuant to 47 CFR Part 17.14(a) and (b) of the Commission’s rules. A site sketch is included on the next page of this document. Page 1 of 2
