Exhibit E HNS License Sub, LLC Application for Earth Station Blanket License October 2011 Response to Question 36 On June 8, 2011, EchoStar Corporation (“EchoStar”) acquired control of Hughes Communications, Inc., parent company of HNS License Sub, LLC. See BRH Holdings, GP, Ltd. and EchoStar Corporation, DA 11-1015 (Int’l. Bureau, released June 8, 2011). In a letter dated May 27, 2009, the Satellite Division of the International Bureau returned EchoStar Corporation’s (“EchoStar’s”) application to operate a geostationary C-band satellite at the nominal 85° W.L. orbital location as unacceptable for filing, without prejudice to refilling. See Letter from Robert G. Nelson, Chief, Satellite Division, to Pantelis Michalopoulos, Counsel for EchoStar Corporation, DA 09-1149 (May 27, 2009). On July 29, 2010, the International Bureau dismissed EchoStar’s application to construct, launch, and operate a C-band satellite at the 84.9º W.L. orbital location. Orbital Location, Memorandum Opinion and Order, DA 10-1401 (July 29, 2010). On July 26, 2011, the International Bureau denied EchoStar’s application, as amended (File Nos. SAT-MOD-20101124-00244 and SAT-AMD-20110330-00065), to modify its authorization at the 86.5º W.L. orbital location by substituting the EchoStar 8 satellite for new construction.
