Re: Response to Letter DA 08—2285; File Nos. SES—LIC—20080918—01222 and
                 SES—LIC—20080918—01223

  Dear Mr. Kotler:

Through this letter, SWE—DISH Satellite Systems, Inc. ("SWE—DISH") responds
to yourletter of October 10, 2008. SWE—DISH hereby clarifies and confirms that the
antenna patterns submitted with regard to the applications reflect measurements taken
with the antennas that are the subject of these applications. Although in places in the
applications we referred to a 1.2 meter antenna (and also mentioned 0.833 as a
dimension, which may have caused some confusion), in fact the antennas are elliptical 1.2
x 0.833 meter antennas, and the antenna patterns for those antennas were the ones
submitted with the original applications (and labeled 1,2 meters on those plots). 1 also
wanted to confirm that SWE—DISH will not be reapplying for any of the dismissed
frequencies, so that we seek only to operate these earth stations in the 11.7—12.2 GHz and
  the 14.0—14.5 GHz bands.

Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter. Please let me
  knowif you have anyother questions.

                                               Sincerely, /%%7
