Letter to Withdraw E969343

2012-05-29

This document pretains to SES-DBE-20120522-00458 for Database Entry on a Satellite Earth Station filing.

IBFS_SESDBE2012052200458_953393

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requests to withdraw SES-DBE-20120522-00458 (call sign
#969343), which is an update to original database entry SES-DBE-19960514-01193 and modification
request SES-DBM-INTR2012-01134, both under call sign #960343.

The initial intent of SES-DBM-INTR2012-01134 was to notify the FCC of an upgrade of our antennas at
Middleton Island, Alaska from 3.6 meters to 4.5 meters, while updating the EIRP to show a lower value.
However, the first modification to original database entry had two errors: (1) it showed only one
antenna unit instead of two, and (2) it didn’t have the second point of communication for a Galaxy 13.
Therefore, SES-DBE-20120522-00458 was submitted to correct these discrepancies. However, this
second submission had the wrong call sign of 969343 entered under Classification of Filing, section 18,
instead of the correct call sign of 960343.

To avoid further confusion, the FAA intends to resubmit a database modification under call sign E960343
once SES-DBE-20120522-00458 is removed by the FCC, which will finally update the Middleton Island
information with the proper information.
