                                        Public Interest Statement

Antioch College is the successor in interest to the educational institution at Yellow Springs, Ohio, which
was founded in 1852 by the current licensee, Antioch University (which was originally known as Antioch
College). Antioch will succeed the university as the operator of Earth Station E060293. The earth station
is used in conjunction with the operation of Noncommercial Educational FM Broadcast Station WYSO, to
deliver programing for broadcast to the public from such program suppliers as National Public Radio and
Public Radio International. Antioch will continue the program service that the university has delivered to
the Yellow Springs community and throughout the station’s service area since WYSO first began
broadcasting more than 50 years ago.

                                             Antioch Mission

The mission of Antioch College is to provide a rigorous liberal arts education on the belief that
scholarship and life experience are strengthened when linked, that diversity in all its manifestations is a
fundamental component of excellence in education, and that authentic social and community
engagement is vital for those who strive to win victories for humanity.

                                             Program Service

WYSO is “Public Radio for The Miami Valley.” It is a member of National Public Radio, broadcasting
NPR’s award-winning news and public affairs programs. WYSO also delivers live and prerecorded local
news and public affairs programming produced by its professional staff, interns, and volunteers. Antioch
will continue the present program service provided by WYSO.

Grant of the instant application will serve the public interest because it will enable WYSO to continue to
provide an important program service to the general public, under the station’s new ownership by
Antioch College, the successor in interest to Antioch University.
