Description of the Transaction and Public Interest Statement

Gilmore Broadcasting Corporation (“Gilmore”) holds the earth station licenses listed in
this application. Gilmore and Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc. (“Nexstar”) have entered into a
transaction in which Nexstar will acquire the assets of used in the operation television broadcast
station WEHT(DT), Evansville, Indiana (Fac. Id. No. 24215), subject to FCC approval and other
customary closing conditions. Gilmore’s earth station licenses are used in connection with the
operations of WEHT. Gilmore and Nexstar filed an FCC Form 314 assignment application on
August 12, 2011 seeking FCC consent to the assignment of WEHT’s license to Nexstar. See
BALCT-20110812ACH. Nexstar currently owns, operates, programs or provides sales and other
services to 61 television stations and related digital signals in 36 markets in 16 states. The
proposed transaction will enable Nexstar to apply its operating management experience to
WEHT’s operations, and thus will serve the public interests, convenience and necessity. Further,
the proposed transaction will not disrupt the operations associated with the Gilmore earth station
licenses.
