SCRIPPS HOWARD BROADCASTING COMPANY Form 312 – EARTH STATIONS ASSIGNMENT APPLICATIONS EXHIBIT RESPONSE TO QUESTION #A20 In the instant application, FCC licensee Scripps Howard Broadcasting Company (“SHBC”) proposes to assign all its earth station authorizations to Scripps Howard Publishing, Inc. (“SHPI”). This assignment application is the final phase of a two-stage process to place all licenses under one licensee. Phase one involved the assignment of authorizations to SHBC from its two subsidiaries (Channel 7 of Detroit, Inc. and Tampa Bay Television, Inc.) – the FCC has granted those assignment applications and they have been consummated.. All the existing and proposed licensee companies are under the control of The E.W. Scripps Company (“Scripps”), which is the 100% owner of SHBC and SHPI). A diagram showing the corporate structure of the licensees before and after the transactions is provided below.
