Unless otherwise specified herein, operations under this grant must comport with the legal and technical
specifications set forth by the applicant or petitioner and with Federal Communication Commission’s rules
not waived herein. This grant is also subject to the following conditions:
    1. All operations under this grant of special temporary authority must be on an unprotected and non-harmful
       interference basis, i.e., T16 must not cause harmful interference to, and must not claim protection from
       interference caused to it by, any other lawfully operating station.
    2. In the event of any harmful interference under this grant of special temporary authority, DIRECTV must
       cease operations of T16 immediately upon notification of such interference and must inform the
       Commission, in writing, immediately of such an event.
    3. DIRECTV must coordinate the operations of T16 with existing geostationary space stations to ensure that
       no unacceptable interference results during the drift from the 134.75° W.L. orbital location to the 100.85°
       W.L. orbital location.
    4. DIRECTV must coordinate the operations of DIRECTV T16 with existing geostationary space stations to
       ensure that no unacceptable interference results from its operations during the drift to the 100.85° W.L.
       orbital location.
    5. DIRECTV may not provide payload services during the drift.
    6. Any action taken or expense incurred as a result of this special temporary authority is solely at
       DIRECTV’s own risk.
Licensee/grantee is afforded thirty (30) days from the date of release of this action to decline the grant as
conditioned. Failure to respond within this period will constitute formal acceptance of the grant as conditioned.

This action is taken pursuant to Section 0.26 1 of the Commission’s rules on delegated authority, 47 CFR § 0.26 1,
and is effective upon release.

Station licenses are subject to the conditions specified in Section 309(h) of the Communications Act of 1934, as
Space station licenses are subject to conditions specified in Section 309(h) of the Communications Act of 1934,
amended, 47 U.S.C. § 309(h).

     temporary authority for an additional 30 days to drift DIRECTV’s Tl6 satellite (S3039)
     from its in-orbit testing location of 134.75 W.L. to its permanent authorized location of
     100.85 W.L.

                       REQUEST FOR SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY

         DIRECTV Enterprises. LLC (“DIRECTV”) respectfully requests an extension of its grant

of space station special temporary authority (“STA~) for an additional 30 days to drift

DIRECTV’s recently launched TI 6 satellite (Call Sign S3039) from its in-orbit testing (“lOT”)

location of     134.750     W.L. to its permanent authorized location of 1 00.85° W.L. Pursuant to

Section 1 .62 of the Commission’s rules,1 DIRECTV will continue to operate pursuant to the

terms and conditions of its existing STA pending action on this timely filed renewal request.

         On May 29, 2019, the Commission granted DIRECTV’s 30-day STA request to conduct

lOT of T16 at       134.750    W.L. and to drift the satellite to its permanent authorized location of

100.85° W.L.2 The lOT period commenced on July 1. 2019~ and was completed on July 22,

20l9.~ The drift to 100.85° W.L. commenced on July 23, 2019 and is expected to he completed

on or about September 4. 20l9.~ On August 8, 2019. the Commission granted [)1RECTV~s 30-

day STA extension request to continue drifting the satellite to its permanent authorized orbital

location.6 By this application, DIRECTV respectfully requests an extension of its current STA

for an additional 30 days to cover the remaining drifi period.7

          Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (“TT&C~) services for T16 will be performed using

the following center frequencies:

          12697 MHz and 12698 MHz (space-to-Earth); and

          17789 MHz and 17791 MHz (Earth-to-space).

          Grant of this space station STA request is in the public interest because it will facilitate

the relocation ofTl6 from its lOT location to its permanent authorized orbital location.

Accordingly, DIRECTV respectfully requests that the Commission grant this request.
