13. Description
Planet Labs Inc. (Planet) requests a 30-day extension of the special temporary authority (STA) granted in File No. SAT-STA-20170225-00022, incorporated herein by reference, to communicate in the 8025-8400 MHz band with ground stations in Troll, Antarctica and Punta Arenas, Chile. Planet has completed coordination with the relevant U.S. federal agencies. Grant of this extension request will provide Planet with the additional downlink capacity needed to support the transmission of imaging data from its satellite constellation pending the filing of its permanent application for an earth station in Inuvik, Canada, and accordingly serves the public interest.
