Dortch Secretary Federal Communications Commission 445 12th Street SW Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Application of Intelsat License LLC to Modify Authorization for Intelsat 706 (call sign S2401), File No. SAT-MOD- 20121026-00188 Request for Further Extension of Special Temporary Authority to Drift Intelsat 706 and Request to Begin Operations (call sign S2401), File No. SAT-STA-20130206-00017 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) herein supplements the above- referenced pending applications seeking permanent and temporary authority to operate Intelsat 706 at 157.0º E.L. First, the modification application stated that the Intelsat 706 satellite’s authority to operate in the 12.5-12.75 GHz band would not be conditioned on Intelsat remaining a signatory to the Public Services Agreement between Intelsat and the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization (“ITSO”).1 Intelsat now confirms that the Intelsat 706 satellite’s authority to operate in the 12.5-12.75 GHz band is conditioned on Intelsat remaining a signatory to the ITSO Public Service Agreement. Second, Intelsat clarifies that although Intelsat 706 has the capability to transmit in the 11700-11950 MHz band, Intelsat does not seek authority to use these frequencies on the Intelsat 706 satellite at the 157.0º orbital location. 1 See Application of Intelsat License LLC to Modify Authorization for Intelsat 706, File No. SAT-MOD-20121026-00188, p. 5 (filed Oct. 26, 2012).
