Attachment to Grant IBFS File No. SAT—STA—20120103—00001 Call Sign 82162 The application of SES Americom, Inc. (SES Americom) for special temporary authority, IBFS File No. SAT—STA—20120103—00001, is granted. Accordingly, SES Americom is authorized, for a period of 30 days commencing on January 9, 2012, to continue to conduct Telemetry, Tracking, and Telecommand (TT&C) operations with the AMC—3 space station (Call Sign $2162) to maintain AMC—3 at the 86.9° W.L. orbital position, using the following frequencies: 3700.5 MHz (vertical polarization; space—to—Earth), 4199.5 MHz (horizontal polarization; space— to—Earth), 12198.0 MHz (horizontal polarization; space—to—Earth), and 6423.5 MHz (vertical polarization; Earth—to—space). In addition, SES Americom is authorized to continue to operate AMC—3 as an in—orbit spare at the 86.9° W.L. orbital location in the 3700—4200 MHz (space—to— Earth), 5925—6425 MHz (Earth—to—space), 11.70—12.20 GHz (space—to—Earth), and 14.0—14.5 GHz (Earth—to—space) frequency bands. This authorization shall be in accordance with the technical specifications set forth in SES Americom‘s application, Federal Communication Commission (Commission) rules, and the following conditions: 1. All operations during AMC 3‘s operations at the 86.9° W.L. orbital location as an in—orbit spare shall be on an unprotected and non—harmful interference basis, i.e., the AMC—3 space station shall not cause harmful interference to, and shall not claim protection from interference caused to it by, any other lawfully operating station. In the event of any harmful interference, SES Americom shall cease operations immediately upon notification of such interference, and shall inform the Commission, in writing, immediately of such an event. 2. SES Americom may activate the communications payloads for the AMC—3 space station in the 3700—4200 MHz (space—to—Earth), 5925—6425 MHz (Earth—to—space), 11.70—12.20 GHz (space—to—Earth), and 14.0—14.5 GHz (Earth—to—space) frequency bands in the event of a service outage of an operational space station. 3. In the event SES Americom activates the communications payload of the AMC—3 space station, SES Americom must notify the Commission, in writing, of such activation within three business days of the start of the activation. 4. While at the 86.9° W.L. orbital location, SES Americom shall maintain the AMC— 3 spacecraft with an east/west longitudinal station—keeping tolerance of +/— 0.05 degrees. 5. Any action taken or expense incurred as a result of operations pursuant to this special temporary authority is solely at SES Americom‘s own risk. 6. SES incorporates by reference the supporting narrative that was filed in SAT—STA—20111031— 00210. Extension of the STA is sought pending Commission action on applications proposing to relocate AMC—3 to 67 degrees W.L. (File Nos. SAT—MOD—20111220—00243 & SAT—STA—20111220—00244).
