Re: Correction to STA Requests for AMC-2 (Call Sign S2134)
       File Nos. SAT-STA-20111017-00204 & SAT-STA-20111017-00205

Dear Ms. Dortch:

SES Americom, Inc. (doing business as “SES”), by its attorney, hereby advises the Commission
of a correction to the above-referenced requests for special temporary authority to begin drifting
                                      1
the AMC-2 satellite towards 4.98° E.L. and to operate AMC-2 upon its arrival at 4.98° E.L.2

Specifically, both STA requests contained erroneous information regarding the C-band beacon
at 3700.5 MHz, indicating that this beacon would use horizontal polarization.3 In fact, during the
drift of AMC-2 towards 4.98° E.L. and while the satellite is on station at 4.98° E.L., the C-band
beacons will use the satellite’s global horn antenna and will both employ vertical polarization.

SES respectfully requests that the Commission update its records regarding the STA requests
to reflect that the correct polarization for the 3700.5 MHz beacon is vertical. Please address
any questions regarding this matter to the undersigned.

Respectfully submitted,

/s/ Karis A. Hastings
