Dear Ms. Dortch:

Earlier this year, the Commission granted GeoEye License Corp. (“GeoEye”) special
temporary authority to de-orbit GeoEye’s OrbView-3 satellite. These grants of authority
contained two conditions: (1) approval by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (“NOAA”) of the planned OrbView-3 de-orbit and re-entry activities; and (2)
written notification to the Commission within 10 business days of the completion of the
OrbView-3 satellite de-orbit.

Accordingly, GeoEye hereby notifies the Commission that the planned OrbView-3 de-
orbit and re-entry activities have been completed, in accordance with approval granted by
NOAA. GeoEye appreciates the Commission’s responsiveness and cooperation in timely issuing
the above-referenced grants of special temporary authority, which helped the company complete
the OrbView-3 de-orbit process within the scheduled timeframe.

Please contact the undersigned should you have any questions in this matter.

                                             Respectfully,

                                             /s/ Gregg Hyde
                                             Gregg Hyde
