EXPEDITED ACTION REQUESTED

                        APPLICATION OF SES AMERICOM, INC.

SES Americom, Inc. (“SES Americom,” doing business as “SES WORLD

SKIES”1) hereby respectfully requests special temporary authority for a period of up to sixty

days to relocate the AMC-2 C/Ku-band hybrid satellite to 78.95º W.L. SES WORLD SKIES has

submitted an application to reassign AMC-2 permanently to 78.95º W.L.2 Pending action on the

AMC-2 Modification, SES WORLD SKIES seeks authority to perform Tracking, Telemetry,

Command, and Monitoring (“TTC&M”) in order to relocate AMC-2 from 101º W.L. to

78.95º W.L., and to operate both the TTC&M and communications payloads on AMC-2 once it

arrives at 78.95º W.L. SES WORLD SKIES proposes to commence relocation of AMC-2 on or

about June 16, 2010. Grant of the requested authority will allow SES WORLD SKIES to use

1
On September 7, 2009, SES S.A. announced that the newly integrated operations of its two
indirect subsidiaries, New Skies Satellites B.V. and SES Americom would be conducted under a
single brand name, SES WORLD SKIES. The new brand name does not affect the underlying
legal entities that hold Commission authorizations or U.S. market access rights.

File No. SAT-MOD-20100324-00056, Call Sign S2134 (the “AMC-2 Modification”). No
petitions or comments were filed concerning the AMC-2 Modification, which was placed on
public notice on April 23. See Satellite Policy Branch Information, Satellite Space Station

AMC-2 to provide service continuity at the nominal 79º W.L. orbital location, where the satellite

will replace AMC-5 and Satcom C-3.

As discussed in the AMC-2 Modification, SES WORLD SKIES currently

operates the AMC-2 C/Ku-band hybrid satellite at 101º W.L.,3 where it is collocated with AMC-

4.4 SES WORLD SKIES recently launched SES-1 to replace AMC-4.5 SES-1 is currently en

route to 101º W.L. and is expected to arrive on or about June 14, 2010. Once SES-1 arrives at

101° W.L., SES WORLD SKIES intends to relocate AMC-4 to the 67° W.L. orbital location and

AMC-2 to the nominal 79° W.L. orbital location.

SES WORLD SKIES currently operates two spacecraft at the nominal 79º W.L.

orbital location: Satcom C-3 is licensed to operate in the conventional C-band frequencies at

79.05º W.L., and AMC-5 is licensed to operate in the conventional Ku-band frequencies at

78.95º W.L. SES WORLD SKIES intends to replace both satellites with the AMC-2 satellite.

Satcom C-3 will be deorbited later this year, and in the interim SES WORLD SKIES has

requested authority to relocate the spacecraft to 79.15º W.L.6 Once traffic has been transferred

and Satcom C-3 has been repositioned, SES WORLD SKIES also proposes to relocate AMC-5

to 79.05º W.L., the position that will be vacated by Satcom C-3, and operate it there in inclined

orbit. AMC-5 will then serve as an in-orbit spare for the Ku-band capacity of AMC-2.

3
AMC-2 operates in the conventional C-band (3700-4200 MHz and 5925-6425 MHz) and
conventional Ku-band (11.7-12.2 GHz and 14.0-14.5 GHz) frequencies.

                                                 2

Grant of the requested authority will serve the public interest by enabling the

timely extension of station-kept service at the 79º W.L. orbital location. Relocation of AMC-2 to

78.95° W.L. as proposed herein will not harm adjacent satellite operators. During the relocation,

the communications payload on the AMC-2 satellite will be switched off. Only the TTC&M

payload will remain active, and SES WORLD SKIES will coordinate the move of the spacecraft

with all potentially affected satellite operators. AMC-2 will be operated consistent with existing

and future coordination agreements applicable to its operations at the nominal 79° W.L. orbital

location. Complete technical information regarding operation of AMC-2 at 78.95º W.L. is on

file as part of the AMC-2 Modification.

SES WORLD SKIES hereby certifies that no party to this application is subject to

a denial of federal benefits pursuant to Section 5301 of the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988, 21

U.S.C. § 862.

SES WORLD SKIES waives any claim to the use of any particular frequency or

of the electromagnetic spectrum as against the regulatory power of the United States because of

the previous use of the same, whether by license or otherwise, and requests an authorization in

accordance with this application.

                                                  3

For the foregoing reasons, SES WORLD SKIES seeks temporary authority for a

period of up to 60 days beginning on June 16, 2010, to relocate AMC-2 to 78.95º W.L., to

operate the TTC&M payload only during the drift to that location, and to operate the TTC&M

and communications payloads upon arrival of AMC-2 at 78.95º W.L.

                                           Respectfully submitted,

                                           SES AMERICOM, INC.
