SAT-STA-20100408-00068 (Call Sign S2807) and SES-STA-20100408-00419 (Call Sign E040303) Notification of SES Americom, Inc. pursuant to § 1.65 Dear Ms. Dortch: SES Americom, Inc. (“SES Americom,” doing business as “SES WORLD SKIES”),1 by its attorneys and pursuant to Section 1.65 of the Commission’s rules, hereby updates the above-referenced applications relating to in-orbit testing of the 17/24 GHz payload on the SES-1 satellite (the “IOT Applications”) to report that terrestrial coordination in the 24 GHz band has been completed. In the IOT Applications, SES WORLD SKIES reported that it was is in the process of coordinating the use of the E040303 earth station for IOT of the 17/24 GHz Broadcasting Satellite Service (“BSS”) payload of SES-1 with Fibertower Spectrum Holdings LLC (“Fibertower”). Fibertower holds authorizations to provide DEMS service in the 24 GHz band within the SMSA in which E040303 is located as well as in adjacent SMSAs. SES WORLD SKIES has now completed discussions with Fibertower and received its consent to conduct the 17/24 GHz payload IOT subject to the conditions set forth in the IOT Applications. 1 On September 7, 2009, SES S.A. announced that the newly integrated operations of its two indirect subsidiaries, New Skies Satellites B.V. and SES Americom would be conducted under a single brand name, SES WORLD SKIES. The new brand name does not affect the underlying legal entities that hold Commission authorizations or U.S. market access rights.
