This report is being filed pursuant to conditions 4 and 5 of EchoStar‘s Special Temporary Authority to operate on the two unassigned DBS channels at the 61.5° W.L. orbital location.‘ EchoStar 3. On January 7, 2010, EchoStar 3 experienced another Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers ("TWTA") anomaly further diminishing its operating capacity. anomaly, prompting EchoStar to activate EchoStar 6‘s communications payload to maintain service following EchoStar 3‘s anomaly.3 Replacement Satellite. As previously reported to the Commission, EchoStar plans to launch EchoStar 15, a new 32—transponder—capable DBS satellite, to the 61.55° W.L. orbital location." Once operating, EchoStar 15 will effectively replace EchoStar 3 at 61.5° W.L. EchoStar 15 is expected to be launched on or around July 10, 2010.
