Washington, D.C. 20554 INTELSAT Re: Request for Further Extension of Special Temporary Authority to Continue Operating the Intelsat 706 Payload, Call Sign $2401 Dear Ms. Dortch: Intelsat North America LLC ("Intelsat"), pursuant to Section 25.120 of the rules of the Federal Communications Commission ("FCC" or "Commission"),‘ herein requests a 30—day further extension — through January 4, 2010 — of the Special Temporary Authority ("STA")previously granted Intelsat to continue operating the Intelsat 706 satellite‘s payload (Call Sign $2401) at its current location of 54.85° E.L." Intelsat 706 will continue to operate at that location in accordance with the ITU filings of the Indian Administratio_n.4 Grant of this STA extension request is in the public interest because it will . ensure continuity of service to Intelsat‘s customers in the Indian Ocean Région. Amendment 3 (dated 4 November 2009) to the Agreement (dated 6‘" March 2004) and its Amendments between Departmentof Space, Government of India and INTELSAT LLC regarding placement of an INTELSAT satellite 54.85 degrees East +++ a.
