Washington, DC 20554 Re: De-orbiting of DIRECTV 1 IBFS File No. SAT-STA-20090121-00006 Dear Mr. Nelson: DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC (“DIRECTV”) hereby gives notice that it has successfully de-orbited its DIRECTV 1 space station, which has operated most recently pursuant to a Canadian license at the 91° W.L. orbital location. The de-orbiting was completed on February 20, 2009. The final measured orbit of the DIRECTV 1 satellite has an apogee and perigee of 386 km and 345 km above geosynchronous orbit, respectively. In the course of de-orbiting the satellite, DIRECTV depleted the propellant tanks, discharged the batteries, disconnected the power from the bus, and shut off all payloads and payload heaters.
