Re: XM Radio Inc., Request for Special Temporary Authority,
                SAT—STA—20061002—00114
  Dear Chairman Martin,
As a manufacturer of XM Radios, including both hand—held and car radios, we are
writing to urge the Commission to promptly grant the pending Request for Special
Temporary Authority filed by XM Radio, Inc.,. FCC File Number
  SAT—STA—20061002—00114 ("STA").
Adequate reception of XM Radio signals is very important to us and hundreds of
thousands of consumers that own and use Pioneer XM radios. Promptly granting the
STA would ensure continuity of service for those consumers while the Commission
considers XM‘s request for longer—term authority in its application for a 180—day STA.
We are concerned that unless the Commission grants this STA, consumers will
suffer a loss or degradation of service. We understand that the current 30—day STA
request is supplemented by a 180—day request which will be subject to Public Notice.
Given the short timeframe of the 30—day STA and the ensuing opportunity for public
comment in connection with the 180—day STA, we are hopeful that the Commission will
  grant this STA expeditiously.
We appreciate your consideration in this matter.

                                          Regards,

                                          TsutomuHaga
                                          President and CEO
                                          Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.
