Dortch September 13, 2004 Page2 application.‘ The application, as amended, was placed on Public Notice for thirty days on September 10, 2004 and, thus, cannot be granted by the time INTELSAT 706 has been replaced by INTELSAT 707. As a result, INTELSAT 707 and INTELSAT 706 will very shortly be co—Located at 53.0° W.L. Allowing INTELSAT 706 to drft to 50.25° E.L. will serve the publicinterest by allowing Intelsat to move the satllite away from INTELSAT 707 and thereby allow for the safe station—keeping of both satelites. Moreover,it willenable Intelsatto conserve fuel by allowing the stellite to driftto 50.25° E.L. ata slower rate and still satisfy customer requirements. During the drift of INTELSAT 706 from 53.0° W.L. to 50.25° EL. Intelsat wll tiize only the satelite‘s tracking, telemetry, command and monitoring (°TTC&M") frequencies and no communications services will be trnsmitted. Similaly, Intelsatwill not transmit communications services from the satelite at 50.25° E.L. untl such time as the FCC has granted Intelsats amended application to modify the INTELSAT 706 license to operate atthat location. Pending such grant, Intelsat will utlize only the satllit‘s TTC&M frequencies at the 50.25° EL. location.
