(MSV), pursuant to Section 25.120 of the Commission’s Rules, hereby requests a six (6)month extension through March 2, 2003 of special temporary authority [STA) to mod$ its satellite operations by repointing the boresight of the L-band antennas east by 0.5 degrees. The Commission originally granted MSV this STA on April 12, 1996. See Letter to Lon C. Levin, Esq., from Harold Ng, Chief, Satellite Engineering Branch, dated April 12, 1996 (Ref No. 0800B2). On September 19, 1996, MSV filed an application for minor modification of the AMSC-1 satellite to permanently incorporate this shift in the antenna coverage pattern. See File No. 163-SAT-ML-96. That application remains pending. This request for extension will allow MSV to continue its modified operation of the AMSC-1 satellite during the pendency of its application for permanent modification. The instant request is filed for further extension of the STA until such time as the Commission acts on the pending application for permanent modification. A check for the sum of Seven Hundred Five Dollars ($705.00)is submitted herewith to cover the fee associated with this filing. MSV hereby certifies that no party to this application is subject to a denial of federal benefits pursuant to Section 5201 of the Anti-Drug Abuse A c t of 1988, 21 U.S.C. §853(a).
