Washington, D.C. 20554 Re: Section 1.65 Notice Application to Modify Authorization for Intelsat 5 (S2704) File No. SAT-MOD-20180501-00036 Dear Ms. Dortch: At the request of Federal Communications Commission (“FCC” or “Commission”) staff, Intelsat License LLC (“Intelsat”) requests the amendment of its above-referenced Application. Specifically, Intelsat’s Application should be updated to reflect that the GOES 17 satellite will have an overlapping station-keeping volume with Intelsat 5 at 137.0° W.L. Intelsat 5 is currently on- station at 137.0° W.L. and GOES 17 is on-orbit and undergoing in-orbit testing. Intelsat is currently working with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to ensure the safe operation of both satellites.
