AfriSpace, Inc. Modification of AfriStar-1 Geostationary Space Station License IBFS File No. SAT-MOD-20080204-00036 The application of AfriSpace, Inc. (“AfriSpace”), IBFS File No. SAT-MOD-20080204- 00036, IS GRANTED.’ Accordingly, AfriSpace is authorized to operate the AfriStar-1 satellite (Call Sign S2367) at 21 degrees east longitude in the 1452-1492 MHz frequency band using an alternate downlink beam configuration and transmitting with carriers with 1.71 megahertz bandwidth, in addition to the currently authorized carriers with 2.6 megahertz bandwidth. Other than these changes, the conditions contained in the prior authorization, 15 FCC Rcd 1632 (Int’l Bur. 1999), continue to apply. This authorization is subject to the terms, conditions, and technical specifications set forth in its application, the Commission’s rules and the following conditions: 1. AfriSpace is required to comply with the applicable laws, regulations, rules and licensing procedures for those countries it proposes to serve. 2. AfriSpace shall maintain the satellite with an east/west longitudinal station-keeping tolerance of 0.05 degrees. 3. AfriSpace has 30 days from the date of this grant to decline this authorization as conditioned. 4. This grant is issued pursuant to 47 C.F.R. 8 0.261, the Commission’s rules on delegated authority, and is effective immediately. Petitions for reconsideration under Section 1.106 or applications for review under Section 1.115 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. 8 5 1.106 and 1.115, may be filed within 30 days of the date of the public notice indicating that this action was taken. * Application was placed on Public Notice as accepted for filing on March 28,2008 (Report No. SAT- 005 10).
