            Re: WB Holdings 1, LC — Voluntary Surrender ofKa—Band GSO License at 109.2° W L. —
                   Call Sign 82211

     Dear Ms. Dortch:

WB Holdings 1, LLC ("WBH") hereby voluntarily surrenders ts Ka—band satellite liense at
109.2° W.L. (Call Sign 2211)." As the Commission knows, a number ofcircumstances (including the
bankruptcy of its satellie construction contractor) prevented WBH from launching the WildBlue—1
satellite in ime to perfect international priority for the U.S. Ka—band fling at the International
Telecommunications Union. Since that filing expired, WBH has searched diligently for an altemnative
way to bring the slot into use underits Commission—issued license. At this point, WBH must concede
that it will not be able to do so.
WBH‘s corporate parent, WildBlue Communications, Inc., has launched a Ka—band satellite
broadband service using a Canadian—licensed space station at 111.1° W.L., from which it provides
service to underserved and unserved consumers across the country. WildBlue will continue to provide
that service, and expects to expand ts capacity to do so by launching WildBlue—1 to that slot lter this
year, where it has applied to operate pursuant to a Canadian authorization. Accordingly, WBH will
continue to use its other Commission—issued Ka—band authorizations, and nothing in this leter should
be interpreted to affect them in any way.

WBH appreciates the Commission‘s efforts on its behalf over the years, and looks forward to
continuing to provide advanced broadband services to U.S. consumers.
