ORICE OF THE SECRETARY Washington, DC 20554 Re: Hughes Network Systems, Inc. - Voluntary Surrender of Ka-Band GSO License and Voluntary Dismissal of Pending Applications for Call Sign S2190 Dear Ms. Dortch: Hughes Network Systems, Inc. (73“”)hereby voluntarily surrenders its Ka- band satellite license at 25” E.L. (Call Sign S2190).’ Because this surrender renders pending applications to modify this license moot, HNS also voluntarily dismisses the following applications: SAT-MOD-20021023-00193 and SAT-MOD-20030123-00050. HNS requests that the Commission update its records to reflect these actions and issue public notice thereof as required. Changes in the overall network design for HNS’ Ka-band network have led to the decision to surrender the license for Call Sign S2 190. However, HNS remains committed to implementing its Ka-band satellite system.
