Re: Loss of Service by Intelsat‘s IA«7 Satellite; Call Sign 52150 inoraiong Eusns
         Dear Mr. Tyer:
On November 28, 2004, at approximately 2:30AM EST, Intelsat North America LLC‘s
("Intelsat") Intelsat Americas—7 satelit ("1A—7"), cll sign $2159, experienced a sudden
and unexpected electrical distribution anomaly, which caused the loss ofall service by
the satellite. Although it appeared that the satellte was not recoverable, Intelsat
continued to command the satelite and look for signs oflife.
Rarly Monday, November 29, 2004, sporadic telemetry was received indicating that the
satellte had responded to some of these commands. With the assistance of Space
Systems/Loral, the manufacturer of IA—7, and Loral Skynet, tsatellte‘s previous
operator,Intelsat was able to regain contact and control and services have been restored
on this satllite for several customers.
         TA—7 is a C—band and Ku—band hybrid geostationary satelltelcensed at 129° W.L.
covering the Continental United States, Alask, Hawaii, Canada, and Central America.
The satelite was launched in September 1999 and commenced service in November 1999
         as Telstar 7. The spacecraft‘s predieted end—oflife is 2015. On March 17, 2004, Intelsat
acquired the satellte under the terms of an Asset Purchase Agreement with Loral Space
& Communications Corporation (Debtor—in—Possession), Loral SpaceCom Corporation
(Debtor—in—Possession), and Loral Satelite, Inc. (Debtor—in—Possession).
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need additional information.
